For the cake you'll need:
1/2 cup unsalted butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
3 large eggs, separated
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla extract
2 cups sour cream
3 cups all purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
3/4 teaspoon salt
For the Filling and Topping you will need:
2 cups of chocolate chips (i used Hershey Special Dark)
1/2 cup of sugar
1 teaspoon cinnamon
Preheat the oven to 350°F, Butter a 9X13in baking pan, Set pan aside.
In a large bowl, cream butter and sugar. Beat in egg yolks and vanilla. In a separate bowl, sift dry ingredients (flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.) Alternately mix in sour cream and dry ingredients to the butter and sugar mixture. In a medium bowl, beat egg whites until stiff and fold into batter.
In a small dish, mix sugar an cinnamon for the filling and topping.
Pour half of the cake batter into your pan. Sprinkle with half of the cinnamon sugar mixture and one cup of chocolate chips. Pour the rest of the batter over the filling and smooth the top. Spread the remaining cup of chocolate chips on top of the batter and gently press them in (don't submerge them...you just want them to stick to the cake!)
Bake for 40-50 minutes, or until a tester (knife/toothpick/etc) comes out clean from the center.
ENJOY!!!
